How to Build a Time Machine
Author: Paul Davies
Copyright date: 2002

This was a really short little book that I read in two or three days. In it, Davies uses all the current theories of physics to describe how we might be able to build a time machine some day.

Though the book had a few very interesting facts in it, I didn't really like it. To me it seemed like Davies was writing this book for the stupidest human alive, and at some points I remember thinking "Gimme a break!" This book was also way too short. The author described a possible method for building a time machine, but almost every required element was wildly speculative and thus lacking in facts and information. Also - perhaps if he had not considered his readers to be morons, and had gone into some depth, Davies might have convinced me that these seemingly ridiculous ideas might be accomplished someday.

I've heard that Paul Davies is a brilliant physicist and a gifted author, but this is the first book of his that I've read and I'm not impressed so far. This book did have some interesting facts but I don't think it's worth the read. I'll wait a while before I give this author another shot.
