Fight Club
Author: Chuck Palahniuk
Copyright date: Don't know yet, I can't find my copy of the book

When I first saw the movie Fight Club, I didn't even know it was based on a book. The first time I saw it, I wasn't really paying attention and thought "Wow, that was pretty cool." The second time I saw it, it changed my life.

Later I found out that it was based on a book by a guy named Chuck Palahniuk. I borrowed the book from a friend and couldn't put it down.

Fight Club wasn't just about a club in which people fight each other. Nope. It was about finding purpose in a world that gives us none. About finding the power within yourself. About how one person, or a small group of people maybe, can change the world.

I find this book difficult to describe, perhaps because it hit me in so many ways. More likely is that every time I think about this book I am awestruck and cannot find the words. All you need to know is that is a great book, and it will change your life if you let it.

Was the movie better than the book? I can't decide. There were things in the book I liked that were not in the movie, and vice versa. Generally, though, I think this is one of the very few cases in which the movie surpassed the book. When compared to the book, I liked more the way the movie communicated its messages. The book is still great though! Whether you have or have not seen the movie, you should read this book!
