Best of Times, Worst of Times

It's like that right now. It's the best of times and the worst of times.

Finally, Spring is here! It's getting warm here in Florida, and those not brave enough to hit the beach in the winter (a.k.a. me) can finally start going back!

At the same time, though, I have a difficult obstacle - finals are coming up. It's almost the end of the school year, so teachers are trying to cram in every last bit of info (even tests the week before finals). And because it's almost the end of the year, the anticipation of my freedom burns inside and makes it even harder to do that homework.

It's difficult to be optimistic when I'm in the midst of a ton of homework and the beach is calling my name. But I'm getting better at it. Since it's the end of the semester, you can actually count down the assignments left - "One math section down, only five to go 'til the end of the year!" Also, I've realized that the increased difficulty of doing homework also increases the fun I have at the beach! In other words, it's worth it!

So if you ever find yourself in a situation like this, and I think we all do, just try to be optimistic. Remember that, soon enough, the hard stuff will be over and playtime will be that much more fun.
