I hope you guys don't mind if I go "mushy" this week. :)

For eighteen years, I hated Valentine's Day. This is most likely because I have never had a valentine before this year. There were so many different girls I liked, and none of them liked me. So of course, I always did nothing and told myself it wasn't worth it. I'd always tell myself "It's just a dumb made-up holiday so people go out and spend money." And in truth, I still kinda believe that.

But yesterday, Valentine's Day, I had a wonderful time with my girlfriend. We spent all day together, exchanged gifts, went out to dinner, and then rushed to the last showing of a movie. Valentine's Day gave us the opportunity to spend an entire day devoted to each other, to having fun and to reminding us why we love each other. What's so wrong about that?

So all you guys that still oppose Valentine's Day - I hope that soon you will find someone who will make you happy, and then realize that Valentine's Day is just about being with the one you love.
