It Feels Great
I've been observing and pondering a new phenomena lately - the beach bum style. Not only people who live around here, but I
also see tourists from all over the country that want to look like surfers. Guys that grow their hair out long, wear "surfer
clothes," and even try to talk like beach bums.
All these people are trying to be beach bums even though they only spend about a week per year with the ocean.
Personally I think it's pretty funny, even though trying to be something you are not is one of my pet peeves.
It feels great to be the type of person that so many other people want to be like. My friends and I are what
these crazy young tourists look up to and strive to be like. Isn't that funny?
This brings a similar situation to mind. Everyone is always complaining that immigrants take a lot of our jobs,
and they better speak English, yadda yadda yadda. Well I suppose they do, and I do agree that we should all
speak English - but there's no need to get so pissed off about it. Take a step back and think about it. Look
at all the people in other countries that want to be a part of the USA. So many people want to be a part of
this country that we've had a part in all along. Doesn't that feel great?
