Not from the comp, but definitely a perfect moment.

The Perfect Moment

This past weekend was great. I went home to Fort Walton Beach for a skim competition. Even though I didn't compete, I went out and cheered the other guys on my skim team, as well as filmed them while they competed.

There was a tropical storm dumping rain on us all day. We could not see the sun all day, just grey skies as far as the eyes could see. It was a very dreary day, and I must say at first I did not want to be out there. Standing for hours in the cold drizzle without a hint of sunshine...well, it sucks.

After filming for a while, and seeing some of the guys on my skim team make it into the finals, I felt a lot better. In fact, I felt damn proud to be standing there with my team, pulling for them to win. Even though I didn't compete with them, it still felt so great to be a part of something like that. It was the most pure, sincere, unadulterated good feeling I've had in a long time. It was, indeed, the perfect moment.

Now I'm back to school tomorrow. I have to wake up at 7:30 AM, and I have four tests and a project to do this week. I can already tell it's not going to be a good week.

It's funny how one moment you can feel so perfect but the next minute everything becomes difficult again. I guess a moment really is all you can expect from perfection.
